Luxury Hotels Of The World
You're thinking of taking the trip to end all trips? You are after the height of glamour, of sophistication. You want to be pampered every minute you are there and know that you are enjoying some of the best services on the face of the earth. Fortunately there are some absolutely unbelievable hotels available to you if you have the considerable finances available to pay for them.
You only live once though and if you have the cash available to you here is a selection of the best hotels in the whole world.
Dubai Luxury Hotels.
In terms of luxury hotels, Dubai is the world capital. It seems that impossible luxury is standard in this affluent corner of the United Arab Emirates. There are so many five star resorts here it is hard to choose one or two to put on a world list. But no list can be complete without the recently launched and oddly named 'Atlantis, The Palm'.
We can forgive the annoyance of its two names; we can even forgive the comma in the middle of the name because of just how amazing this place actually is. It has its own huge water theme park. It has over 20,000 square feet of retail space. Arguably the most impressive thing about this hotel however is just how much its owners spent on its opening ceremony.
Remember how impressive the firework ceremony was that opened the 2008 Beijing Olympics? Times that by seven and you have the amount of fireworks that were used for this hotel's launch. In fifteen minutes they spent over $16 million dollars just on the fireworks. No wonder the world's A list turned out to see.
The usually reclusive Robert De Niro was seen at the party, along with Michael Jordan and Sir Richard Branson amongst many others. Astonishingly, this hotel forms only one third of a trilogy of hotels. It is also the smallest. The other two are due to open in the next few years.
Perhaps still the most prestigious place to stay in Dubai however is the Burj Al Arab. It was built to rival the Sydney Opera House and the Eiffel Tower. It was built to become emblematic of the whole of Dubai. It does just that. It stands at over a thousand feet tall and resembles the sails of a dhow, which is the traditional Arabic sailing vessel. The most expensive suite costs $28,000 per night. That tells you all you need to know.
European Luxury Hotels.
When it comes to luxury though, money and facilities aren’t the only things that you're after. You need some of that old world charm that the greatest European cities have in abundance. London leads the way. The capital of Great Britain is full of some of the most famous names in the world of hotels and luxury. The Savoy. The Ritz. The Dorchester. The list goes on and on.
But if you are stepping out of Britain and onto the mainland of the continent two places that can put you up in the first class manner you are after are Amsterdam and Prague.
Amsterdam luxury hotels are the perfect way to stay in the exciting party city with an ancient past that is Amsterdam. Luxury hotels that are world famous here include the Hotel de l'Europe. In 2001, the building was designated a national monument. It was used before the war as the setting of a Hitchcock movie and it has in the lobby paintings by some of the greatest Dutch Masters. What else could you possibly require?
When it comes to luxury hotels, Prague is a destination that has its fair share. The most charming for me though has to be the Alchymist Hotel. You'll find it in the heart of Prague's Old Town, just down a cobbled lane from the famous Astronomical Clock. It offers space and luxury on a building dating back to the 14th century. Welcome to luxury hotels, Prague style!
Luxury!
Trying to find the best places to stay in the world is almost impossible. But you can see from even this brief list there are hotels that reinvent the very idea of luxury. Whether you want the chrome and glass of Dubai or the old world charm of Europe, there is always somewhere ready to make you feel like a movie star. You might even find one in the bar!
